Aca-Amazing

                                                                  Aca- Akward!

The new movie, Pitch Perfect just came out a couple weeks ago! This movie was both very intriguing and extremely funny. The movie was about acapella singers forming groups in university.

Rebel Wilson plays Fat Amy (which we learn is actually Fat Patricia), in my opinion Fat Amy totally makes the whole movie.

Anna Kendrick plays Beca, who is the main character, she is into mixing music and being alone, but her dad encourages her to find a club she likes and meet friends. She walks by the Acapella club stand and claims she can't sing at all. When the girls hear her sing they insist she joins the group. The ladies go to regionals and competitions against their school enemy the Treble-Makers.

I actually love this movie and I recommend this movie to people who enjoy comedies and music.
This movie is Aca-Amazing!!

Tommy Boy

Tommy: Does this suit make me look fat?
Richard Hayden: No, your face does.

Chris Farley is one of my favourite comedy actors! And one of my favourite movies with him in it is Tommy Boy. It's a comedy about Tommy (played by Chris Farley), who went to college for under a decade, and has to take over his father's company after he dies. Richard (played by David Spade), who was Tommy's father's assistant follows Tommy around while he looks for clients and keeps, or tries to, keep his father's business going. Richard is sarcastic and mean to Tommy. And Tommy isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. This movie is freaking hilarious and it is a movie that I could watch a couple of times. If you are into comedy then this is definitely the movie for you!!

I was very sad when I found out that Chris Farley had died, he was such a fantastic comedian.

RIP Chris Farley

The Lookout

The other night I watched.. or tried to.. watch The Lookout. I ended up watching it in two nights though. Gordon Joseph-Levitt plays Chris Pratt, who used to be a star hockey player, had the girl and everyone looked up to him. He got into an accident which injured his girlfriend and himself and killed his two friends. Four years later he has a job at a bank and is living with a friend and taking classes to help with his mental injuries. He meets up with the wrong characters thinking that they are his friends, when they are using him and the advantage that Chris works at the bank.. It sounds very predictable but there is a big and really neat twist at the end.

I would recommend this movie who like action and suspense.

Driving Lessons

Everyone knows who Rupert Grint is hopefully, if not you probably know him as Ron Weasly. One of my favourite movies with him in it is Driving Lessons. It's a british film with dark humor but I love it.

Rupert plays Ben, who through out the movie grows up. He meets Evie Walton when his mother tells him he needs to find a job, he soon finds out that she is a very eccentric old lady. Even with the age gap they end up being fairly great friends. In the movie his mother happens to be the antagonist.

Benny & Joon --- What's Eating Gilbert Grape

One actor that I really appreciate is Johnny Depp. I'm sure everyone knows him. I hope. Anyways so like a weird stalker I googled all the movies that he's played in and I found one that isn't very popular. It's called Benny and Joon. I was apprehensive about watching it because I was afraid it was going to be slow, but it turned out to be fantastic.

It was well written and the cast was perfectly picked. Johnny Depp happens to not be a main character. He plays a character named Sam. Benny and Joon are brother and sister and Joon is mentally ill. She falls in love with Sam, who is just as eccentric.

My favourite Johnny Depp movie is What's Eating Gilbert Grape. I did not want to watch this movie at all but my mum kept telling me it's really good. After watching it I fell in love and bought it right away and have seen it a billion times!. Johnny plays Gilbert Grape, he has two sister and an autistic brother, and an overly obese mother. Gilbert has to take care of his autistic brother, Arnie, played by Leonardo DiCaprio. The acting in this movie is amazing, it's an old one too. If your a Johnny Depp fan, a classic movie fan, or anything, you should just watch this movie.

The Breakfats Club

So, one of my favourite movies? It's obviously The Breakfast Club!!! I absolutely love this movie! It makes me sad when I find out that people don't get my jokes or movie parodies because they have never seen it before. I have seen it like 10 times! And I do plan on watching it more. The movie came out in 1985 and it follows 5 teenagers, that are in detention on a Saturday, all from different cliques. So it isn't terribly hard to relate to. There is Allison, Claire, Andy, John and Brian. John Bender happens to be my favourite. He's rude and mouthy and I find him hilarious.

The movie is well written and it shows and reflects the characters well, I recommend this movie to anyone! It's got a bit of humour and lots of relatability.

The classic ending scene to the Breakfast Club. (^John Bender^)

Why I chose this topic

The topic that I have decided to blog about is movies, in general I suppose. I like to search the internet for movies that weren't very popular, but I ended up finding very interesting. Maybe it will even help reader's find new movies. I also like classics, and I mostly into action/adventure. Although, in all honesty, I usually fall asleep through movies while watching them. I will probably write up a summary, what I thought of the movie and whether it is worth watching. I will make sure to put in spoiler alerts!
