Blood Diamond

This is definitely one of my favourite movies ever! It has Leonardo DiCaprio is in it and does a fabulous job playing Danny Fletcher, a man who has strong survival instincts, has made himself a key player in the business conflicts of diamonds. He meets Solomon Vandy, a fisherman, who's son was captured by men training him to be a child solider. Solomon was then taken and forced to look for diamonds, when he finds an enormous one he asks to go to the bathroom, and digs a hole and hides it in the hole. After meeting Solomon, Danny demands to be taken to the diamond. He also meets Maddy, a report, who he doesn't like at first but then ends up falling for her.

This movie was very graphic at some times, but it definitely got the point across blunt, which is what people need to see sometimes. If child soldiers and child slaves then you probably don't want to watch this. But overall this movie is well written and crafted. The acting was excellent, the soundtrack was beautiful and fit perfectly, and the actors were well picked out. I would give this movie a 10/10 if I gave ratings. I love this movie, if you haven't seen it, please do so.

Last King Of Scotland

This is one of my all time favourite movies! The movie is based on the true and brutal events of Dictator Idi Amin's regmin as seen by his personal physician during the 1970's.

Nicholas Garrigan has just graduated as a doctor, and decides to move to Uganda to get away from his father. While working in a mission in the country, he meets the new President Idi Amin after the coup-d'é-tat that overthrow the former government. He is invited to become his personal physician in Kampala and along the years he sees how authoritarian  his friend is.

I loved this movie so much, it is a little brutal so if your not into violence or blood or anything don't watch this, it gets pretty bad near the end. I loved how blunt and close to the truth this movie was.

The acting in this movie was exceptional, James McAvoy and Forest Whitaker are the main characters in the movie, James plays Nicholas and Forest plays Idi Amin.

Be Kind Rewind

Yay! A Jack Black movie! I actually really like this movie, it was so stupidly cheesy it was amazing! Jerry and Mike are two movie store clerks and have to take care of Mike's father's video store. Jerry, Mike's estranged friend, tries to sabotage a power station and ends up almost electrocuting himself and ends up being magnetised. When he shows up at the video store and accidentally erases all of the video tapes, Mike and Jerry come up with a plan to re-film all of the movies on a zero-dollar budget.

This movie is just for a couple stupid giggles, but I thought it was pretty funny, so if you like comedy, and/or Jack Black, then watch this movie!

Light and the Sufferer

So I was looking for hours on the internet for this movie and I couldn't find it anywhere except for on eBay, and it was only $6 so I said hey why not. After half way through the movie I realized why I couldn't find it on the internet. Honestly this movie was horrible. I was so excited because Paul Dano, my current favourite actor, was in it so it ruined it.

It's not SO bad that you can't even sit through the movie, it does have a good story to it, just the acting wasn't all that great and it kept spinning ideas around. So watch it if you like drama, thriller and cheesy.

Napoleon Dynamite

Alright, so I watched this movie when I was 9, and even though I didn't swear when I was 9 my thought was still "wtf?". One night we let my brother choose a movie and this is what he produced.

I rewatched recently and decided that this movie is freaking hilarious, and of course completlely lame.

I don't even wanna talk about what this movie is about, I just want you to go watch it. It just blows your mind how amazing this movie is.

Secret Window

I'm sure alot of people have seen this movie, but I love it so much that I have seen it like 7 times and I will probably watch it more.  I don't love it just because Johnny Depp is in it, but it may be the main reason. It's also a good thriller that I happen to love. Mort Rainey is a writer and now, after a long divorce, lives alone in his and his ex wife's cottage. Things go awry when a stranger knocks on his door saying that Mort stole his story. The stranger keeps threatening messages and signs to Most, at the end you figure out the big twist. I love this movie so much. One of my favourite horror movies.

Ruby Sparks

When I read the description for this movie I honestly wasn't very interested but an actor I was interested in (Paul Dano) was in it so I decided to give it a chance. Ruby Sparks, is the perfect girl, and Calvin Weir-Fields has the power to change her. Calvin was a successful writer, he made an "American- Classic" at the age of 19. He is stubborn, quiet and lonely. When he starts dreaming of this beautiful girl when he's asleep he starts writing about her. He tells his therapist that ultimately he writes about her so he can feel closer to her. One morning when he wakes up to find that Ruby Sparks is living in his house. And she's real. Like really real.

Calvin realizes that when he writes about Ruby, it comes true. So he tested with "Ruby spoke in fluent french and had no idea" and she was! He vowed to to write or change anything about her.

When he finds that Ruby seems like she wants to leave him... he starts writing about her again... to change her.

This movie is SOOO cute! I loved it so much, it was romantic, hilarious and dramatic. If you like any of those things (or Paul Dano) PLEASE watch this movie! You will love you!

being flynn

This movie stars Robert De Niro and Paul Dano. I'm not sure if everyone would actually like or appreciate this movie, but I watched it last night and I fell in lover. The movie follows Nick Flynn, (played by Paul Dano) who is in his 20's, who aspires to be a writer. Robert De Niro plays Nick's father, and he hasn't seen Nick in years. The movie is mostly based around their dysfunctional relationship.

Wild Target

Victor Maynard (Bill Nighy) is an assassin, and he's lonely.  He is close to retirement, but gets another job. To kill Rose (Emily Blunt), an amazing con artist. But in a twist of the movie, he does not realize who Rose is when she asks him to be her body Guard. When Tony (Rupert Grint), an estranged homeless guy, happens to wittness Victor murder a guy, ends up tagging along. The trio flee and take into hiding. Tension builds between Rose and Victor, who have feelings for each other.. until Rose finds out that Victor was supposed to kill her. He also takes Tony under his wing to train him in becoming an assassin.

This movie is SO funny and is also a thriller. Oh and it is another British movie. If you like Comedy movies and alot of action I recommened this movie.

Little Miss Sunshine

If you haven't seen this movie, you're missing out on the cutest quirky movie ever!

Olive Hoover has gotten the call that she can compete in the Little Miss Sunshine beauty pageant.
The family is extremely eccentric. Olive is an excited little girl, Dwayne, her brother, has vowed not to speak, their grandpa is addicted to herion, their uncle that tried to kill himself, their father is bankrupt and their mother is divorced.

The family decided that they will travel to Redondo Beach California, from Albquerque, New Mexico.

The Family has many set backs, such as the clutch in their VW van breaking and having to push the van and jump in to get it going. And the family suffers set backs and they realize they need each other for support

Little Miss Sunshine is funny and brings in dark humor sometimes, all in all its a cute, funny and family friendly movie.

Nick Of Time

If you are into movies full of suspense then this is the movie for you. Nick Of Time is about a man who is forced to kill a politican, that or his young daughter will be killed. Johnny Depp plays Gene Watson, the man the two bad guys have choosen to kill the politican. Gene Watson and his daughter were getting of the train and getting ready to drop his daughter off at her mother's when he is picked in the crowd. Gene has a choice, kill or have his daughter killed.

This movie really keeps you on the edge of your seat.

The Escapist

The title basically tells the movie. Brian Cox plays Frank Perry, who has been sentenced 14 years without parole. When he finds his daughter has become ill he decides he needs to make things right with her and makes a plan to escape the prison. He gathers up a band of eccentric misfits whom all have different qualities to get them out.

One of the escapist is played by Joseph Fiennes (the man I am gunna marry) he plays Lenny Drake.

Most of the movie takes place in the tunnels and sewer system of london. One thing I love about the movie that gives it the mood is the fact that there is very little speaking in the entire movie.

The Disappeared

Another Harry Potter star! Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy is not a main character though! This movie is slow and dark and of course another Brit movie. Matthew Ryan had one job, to look after his little brother Tom. Tom has been disappeared for a while now and Matthew is guilty and trying to keep his sanity together. Everywhere he looks all he can see (or be reminded of) is Tom. As hard as Matthew tries his past keeps coming back to haunt.

Demons Never Die

Alright, so this movie is super dark and very morbid, but it ended up being suspenseful and very good. 8 teenagers who all hate their live and can't stand it anymore decide to make a pact to commit suicide together when they find out that their friend had.. "killed" them self. One character is really obsessed with the whole plan and starts planning like a mad man and won't let it go, even when the other 7 decide that when they are together they're messed up lives aren't so bad. They started to get to know each other better and decided to stay alive. Once they all decided and promised they wouldn't kill themselves, some of their friends end up dead... but not by their own hand...

I love this movie, it's suspenseful, like I said. It is a good tame horror movie.

These are the 8 friends.

CherryBomb

Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Cherry Bomb!

Another British movie! Cherrybomb, with Robert Sheehan and Ruper Grint. Almost your typical movie, Boy meets girl, best guy friend also wants the girl, but girl teases both of them. This movie was creative and had very dark humour, but I loved it. Besides the movie being really good the one this that I really loved about this movie was the soundtrack, it was very unique and gave the movie a good mood and you knew what to feel which each track, as cheesy as that sounds.

I found this movie by just searching what movies Rupert Grint has been in and it just sounded interesting to me, and lone behold I loved it

Misfits

Sooo. I'm going to talk about another tv show...sorry! This one is my FAVOURITE. But I DO NOT recommend it to everyone. There is tons of swearing and sexuality. It's also a British show. This show is so funny though if you don't mind those. It also has one of my favourite Actors in it, Robert Sheehan. The show is about 5 teenagers doing community service and while they are doing on of their daily jobs, a strange storm rolls in and the kids get struck by lightning which ends up giving them super powers. One has the power to read minds, one can change the future, one can turn invisible, one can make anyone lust after her when being touched and one is immortal.

The Middle

Over the weekend I was just vegging out and plopped myself on the couch and watched some tv. I came across something extremely funny and entertaining, although it is not a movie (I know shame on me) I found a tv show called The Middle. If you have ever seen the show Malcolm in the Middle then I am sure you would find some similarities. It's still a great show. It's about a working class mother who tries to keep her dysfunctional family happy.
