Blood Diamond

This is definitely one of my favourite movies ever! It has Leonardo DiCaprio is in it and does a fabulous job playing Danny Fletcher, a man who has strong survival instincts, has made himself a key player in the business conflicts of diamonds. He meets Solomon Vandy, a fisherman, who's son was captured by men training him to be a child solider. Solomon was then taken and forced to look for diamonds, when he finds an enormous one he asks to go to the bathroom, and digs a hole and hides it in the hole. After meeting Solomon, Danny demands to be taken to the diamond. He also meets Maddy, a report, who he doesn't like at first but then ends up falling for her.

This movie was very graphic at some times, but it definitely got the point across blunt, which is what people need to see sometimes. If child soldiers and child slaves then you probably don't want to watch this. But overall this movie is well written and crafted. The acting was excellent, the soundtrack was beautiful and fit perfectly, and the actors were well picked out. I would give this movie a 10/10 if I gave ratings. I love this movie, if you haven't seen it, please do so.

Last King Of Scotland

This is one of my all time favourite movies! The movie is based on the true and brutal events of Dictator Idi Amin's regmin as seen by his personal physician during the 1970's.

Nicholas Garrigan has just graduated as a doctor, and decides to move to Uganda to get away from his father. While working in a mission in the country, he meets the new President Idi Amin after the coup-d'é-tat that overthrow the former government. He is invited to become his personal physician in Kampala and along the years he sees how authoritarian  his friend is.

I loved this movie so much, it is a little brutal so if your not into violence or blood or anything don't watch this, it gets pretty bad near the end. I loved how blunt and close to the truth this movie was.

The acting in this movie was exceptional, James McAvoy and Forest Whitaker are the main characters in the movie, James plays Nicholas and Forest plays Idi Amin.

Be Kind Rewind

Yay! A Jack Black movie! I actually really like this movie, it was so stupidly cheesy it was amazing! Jerry and Mike are two movie store clerks and have to take care of Mike's father's video store. Jerry, Mike's estranged friend, tries to sabotage a power station and ends up almost electrocuting himself and ends up being magnetised. When he shows up at the video store and accidentally erases all of the video tapes, Mike and Jerry come up with a plan to re-film all of the movies on a zero-dollar budget.

This movie is just for a couple stupid giggles, but I thought it was pretty funny, so if you like comedy, and/or Jack Black, then watch this movie!

Light and the Sufferer

So I was looking for hours on the internet for this movie and I couldn't find it anywhere except for on eBay, and it was only $6 so I said hey why not. After half way through the movie I realized why I couldn't find it on the internet. Honestly this movie was horrible. I was so excited because Paul Dano, my current favourite actor, was in it so it ruined it.

It's not SO bad that you can't even sit through the movie, it does have a good story to it, just the acting wasn't all that great and it kept spinning ideas around. So watch it if you like drama, thriller and cheesy.

Napoleon Dynamite

Alright, so I watched this movie when I was 9, and even though I didn't swear when I was 9 my thought was still "wtf?". One night we let my brother choose a movie and this is what he produced.

I rewatched recently and decided that this movie is freaking hilarious, and of course completlely lame.

I don't even wanna talk about what this movie is about, I just want you to go watch it. It just blows your mind how amazing this movie is.

Secret Window

I'm sure alot of people have seen this movie, but I love it so much that I have seen it like 7 times and I will probably watch it more.  I don't love it just because Johnny Depp is in it, but it may be the main reason. It's also a good thriller that I happen to love. Mort Rainey is a writer and now, after a long divorce, lives alone in his and his ex wife's cottage. Things go awry when a stranger knocks on his door saying that Mort stole his story. The stranger keeps threatening messages and signs to Most, at the end you figure out the big twist. I love this movie so much. One of my favourite horror movies.

Ruby Sparks

When I read the description for this movie I honestly wasn't very interested but an actor I was interested in (Paul Dano) was in it so I decided to give it a chance. Ruby Sparks, is the perfect girl, and Calvin Weir-Fields has the power to change her. Calvin was a successful writer, he made an "American- Classic" at the age of 19. He is stubborn, quiet and lonely. When he starts dreaming of this beautiful girl when he's asleep he starts writing about her. He tells his therapist that ultimately he writes about her so he can feel closer to her. One morning when he wakes up to find that Ruby Sparks is living in his house. And she's real. Like really real.

Calvin realizes that when he writes about Ruby, it comes true. So he tested with "Ruby spoke in fluent french and had no idea" and she was! He vowed to to write or change anything about her.

When he finds that Ruby seems like she wants to leave him... he starts writing about her again... to change her.

This movie is SOOO cute! I loved it so much, it was romantic, hilarious and dramatic. If you like any of those things (or Paul Dano) PLEASE watch this movie! You will love you!
